The lovely Jennie Arnau has a charming new video out for her song “Bouncing Ball,” off her latest album, CHASING GIANTS.

The video was directed by Daniel Sears and Jason Jude Hill at GrumpyFILMS. The lyrics of “Bouncing Ball” tell of one person yearning for the most basic of connections from another person.  In the story of the video, Fred Eggplant tries all of these drastic measures to get Dolores’ attention.  It’s only when the birds force him into doing something basic – simply stand in front of her with a bouquet of flowers – that the connection is made and the sun comes out. GrumpyFILMS beautifully mirrored Jennie’s earnestness and the wonderful simplicity of the song in the video. Grab the mp3 for download posting.

Jennie Arnau creates a unique blend of New York-nurtured South Carolina-born Grassroots rock.  Her music is an original blend of Americana, al (Zen Tricksters), guitarist (Blind Boys of Alabama) and bassist t-country and rock, propelled by her gorgeous voice. Jennie’s core band includes drummer Alan LernerGreg McMullen (Chris Whitley), keyboardist Pete LevinJason Hogue. Special guests on Chasing Giants include Al Schnier (moe.), Noam Pikelny (Punch Brothers), Kevin Kinney (Drivin N Cryin), Skip Ward (Steve Martin) and Rich Hinman (Rosanne Cash).

“Jennie has a big voice and an even bigger heart.” -Joe Levy

“With a honey-sweet voice ideally suited for the world of contemporary folk and Americana, contemporaries like Neko Case have emerged form the pack in recent years, and Arnau has the same kind of talent, no question…. Chasing Giants showcases Arnau’s powerful pipes and penchant for heartfelt, honest songrwiting”
 – The Daily News

“Arnau’s muisc is like a carbon copy of Lucinda Williams and Kathleen Edwards, but her voice is so pure that she sounds like audio honey… This is the album you hear when you are driving out in the middle of nowhere and you stop to admire the miles of untouched landscape.  This is the album that brought Arnau back to her roots.  And it will bring you back to yours.”
– Ink 19

“Arnau’s husky voice and great lyricism make for a telling story full of highs and lows. Plus, the song’s light feel and rhythmic nature could make any visual pop to the sweet sounds of slide guitar.”
Consequence of Sound
“In this graceless day and age where mindless music seems to override meaningful lyrics and the singer’s voice, Jennie Arnau’s Chasing Giants is a very refreshing change”
