buzz ‘stache: OUR LADY PEACE Throws a ‘Curve’

Our Lady Peace announce new album coming this April

Our Lady Peace have proven to be fighters in the two decades since they formed in Toronto, a fitting theme for ‘Heavyweight,’ the first single (available now) from their eighth studio album, Curve, coming April 3, 2012.  The band have also scheduled a headlining tour of North America beginning March 29th.  Watch the lyric video for ‘Heavyweight’ below.

The album was  recorded in Toronto and his own L.A. home recording studio with co-producer Jason Lader. Lader’s impressive resume includes production work on Jay-Z‘s ’99 Problems,’ along with Mars Volta, Julian Casablancas, Rilo Kiley and others.

Although this new album is personal, not political, Raine has been getting recognition for his social activism. He recently recorded an agitprop protest anthem, ‘Fight the Good Fight,’ which is included on the Occupy This Album (out this Spring), with artists including Debbie Harry, Willie Nelson, Tom Morello, Joan Baez, Steve Earle and Mogwai, among others. He is also involved in organizations like War Child, targeting at-risk youth in war-torn countries, and Apathy is Boring.

Our Lady Peace will hit the road for a North American headline tour. The tour kicks off March 29 in London, ON with stops in New York CIty, Detroit, Chicago, and Seattle, among other cities.

An exclusive ticket  pre-sale begins Feb. 8 for fans who are signed up to the Our Lady Peace mailing list. Fans that purchase a ticket to a show can also pre-order a digital or physical copy of Curve.  Tickets go on sale to the public Feb.10.
