Recorded in Hungary and mixed and mastered in Sweden by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, God Forbid, Katatonia, Soilwork, Kreator), with artwork by Robert Borbas (Metallica, Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon) and a guest appearance by Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore) on the track “Six Feet Under.”

Based out of Budapest Hungary Leander Rising’s 14-song debut album Heart Tamer delivers a whole new form of aggression, passion and ferocity. Caustic yet eloquent in their cathartic delivery, the band’s debut infuses a molten mix of influences that erupted with force.

Originally a solo project for its namesake Leander Köteles, but his first video for the song Bound To Belong created an internet buzz throughout Hungary and caught the attention of Attila Vörös, a young and well-known guitarist, who has also toured worldwide with Seattle metal band Nevermore, Attila reached out to Leander via e-mail and their collaboration began.  In the beginning Attila only came on to do some guest solos but as time went on they found their true sound was together. Meet the members and watch the EPK below!

Leander Rising is: Leander Köteles (vocals, songwriter, lyricist, keys & bass) / Attila Vörös (Guitar, songwriter) / Jozzy (Guitar, co-songwriter) / Bela Budai (Drums)

US touring news coming soon.

“14-track slab of melodic fury titled Heart Tamer” – AOL Noisecreep

“…a glorious mix of extreme & progressive metal styles that is sure to raise plenty of eyebrows” – Sea Of Tranquility

“Leander Rising breaks open the world with this debut album of hard driving, melodic, well written and impeccably performed metal/hard rock straight from Hungary. The band combines elements of Scandinavian theatrical sounds and the U.K. edgy sounds with their own personal influences to create a sound that is individually theirs and quite frankly GREAT!” – Music Underground Entertainment News

“Leander Rising mixes the power of Trivium and In Flames with melodies reminiscent of 90’s-era Megadeth, with even a few shades of My Dying Bride colored in … Heart Tamer is an enjoyable and valiant effort on the part of a band attempting to make their own signature sound.” – Metal Injection
