live ‘stache: CORY CHISEL AND THE WANDERING SONS Join Norah Jones On Tour

The Wisconsin native Cory Chisel And The Wandering Sons joins the GRAMMY winning Jones in support of his new album Old Believers.

The tour will begin tonight at the Santa Barbara Bowl and continue throughout the Western United States including stops at the legendary Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks Amphitheater and a stop at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival.

Listen to the song “Laura”

The band’s new single “Laura” is a heartbreaking ballad about feeling a relationship slip away and desperately trying to save it. “This apartment, it gets smaller every morning but there’s more room than before. I’ve been searching and I’ve finally found the reason that I lost you here once more. Honey you’re all I want more than ever, let’s stay together lets get back again” …Chisel’s voice cracking over a pleading piano.

Old Believers was released late June on Readymade Records and distributed by Thirty Tigers. The album was produced by Brendan Benson and recorded at Welcome to 1979 in Nashville, Tennessee. Old Believers marks one of the many collaborations between Chisel and Benson. Chisel appeared on Late Night With David Letterman on July 10th in support of the album.

-New York Times

“Next week he’ll release the marvelous Old Believers…Every song felt like a confession or a prayer, every note honest and untainted”
-Nylon Magazine

“I’ve Been Accused, Old Believers- Recorded in a Nashville studio called Welcome To 1979, this sweaty slow jam sounds just like, um, 1979. That’s a good thing. Really good.”

“Inspired by the rawness of George Harrison and Elvis Costello…soulful…meticulous.”
– Rolling Stone

Old Believers is the follow up to Chisel’s critically acclaimed 2009 major label debutDeath Won’t Send A Letter. On the heels of Death, Chisel toured the world extensively including stops at Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Carnegie Hall and Newport Folk Festival. He was named one of Rolling Stone’s “Best New Artists” of 2009 and found radio success with the single “Born Again” -Chisel’s irreverent take on his upbringing as the son of a Baptist preacher.
