lifestyle ‘stache: Electric Guest “The Bait”

The ‘stache lifestyle reps completed an online campaign to promote Electric Guest’s “The Bait” by creating their own viral video for the song. The reps were successful in making choreographed dances, storylines, motion-stop and animated videos to the music of “The Bait”. Many of the reps’ friends and family helped spread their video online to raise viewership, which resulted in 100+ views for nearly every rep. Through the online promotion work, the reps built awareness for “The Bait”‘s original music video and turned many of their friends and followers into fans of the song.

  • Boston rep, Jonathan, featured kids from a community center in his video. He had the center give each kid a link to the video to show their family and friends. He also had the center put the video on the homepage of all the computers in their computer lab. He even got the video featured on some local Boston blogs. His promotion efforts gained over 11k views!
  • “I promoted through Facebook first and was really excited to see the reactions I was getting. All of my friends are obsessed with this song and literally cannot stop listening to it. I got some people to post about the video so there friends can see it as well. Tagging all the people in the thread really got everyone talking.” – Sasha, New York, NY
  • St Louis rep, Morgan, had her school’s dance team perform a routine to the “The Bait.” The team did a great job of interpreting the song and helping promote the video. The team is new to campus and had an invested interest in spreading awareness of the video.
  • “I think my video was very successful in getting so many people involved. I had random people on campus I had never met telling me they loved the video so I was pretty excited. Hofstra’s twitter even retweeted the post of the video from my clubs twitter.” – Meredith, Long Island, NY
  • Denver rep, Rachel, used play dough to create a stop-motion video that followed the song’s lyrics. Even though this was Rachel’s first attempt at making a video, it looked like it was made by a pro. She used other mediums like balloons to make the video exciting and hold the viewers’ attention. She gained more than 400 views in one week!
